Fit notes
Dog car travel accessories for the back seat, the doors and the boot. Choose the area your dog actually uses, then check the measurements for the exact design before ordering.
Start with where your dog rides
- Rear seat: the 3-in-1 hard-bottom dog car seat cover switches between full-bench, two-seat and single-seat layouts, with wooden support boards that bridge the rear footwell. The quilted dog car seat cover comes as separate front-seat and rear-seat designs.
- A defined spot for one dog: the dog car seat with mesh panels has raised quilted sides and comes in Small (up to 7.5 kg), Large (up to 17.5 kg) and Extra-Large (up to 40 kg).
- Rear doors: the ShieldFit car door protector for dogs is a left-and-right set, each panel 77 cm wide by 64 cm high.
- Boot or cargo area: the quilted dog boot liner covers the cargo floor, the side walls and the loading edge with raised side panels and a fold-over bumper flap.
Seat cover, car seat or boot liner?
| If you want to… | Look at |
|---|---|
| Protect the whole rear bench and make the footwell flatter | Hard-bottom dog car seat cover |
| Cover a single front seat or the rear bench surface | Quilted front-seat or rear-seat cover |
| Give one small-to-large dog its own raised space | Dog car seat with mesh panels |
| Stop scratches and mud on the inside of the rear doors | Two-piece door protector |
| Carry a dog in the boot of an SUV, estate or hatchback | Boot liner with bumper flap |
Measure before you order
Measure the rear bench width, the distance to the front seats, the door panel area or the cargo floor, depending on the product. Check headrests, anchor points and seat-belt buckles, and keep them accessible once the accessory is fitted. Fit has not been confirmed for individual vehicle models, so compare the size chart for your selected option with your own car.
Protection is not a restraint
Seat covers, door protectors and boot liners protect your car's surfaces. They are not crash-tested restraints. Secure your dog separately with a restraint suitable for vehicle use, and follow the rules where you drive. Our guides on how to secure a dog in a car and Highway Code Rule 57 explain the difference.
Frequently asked questions
Which dog car accessory should I buy first?
Start with the area that gets the most hair, mud or scratches. For most dogs that ride on the back seat, a rear-seat cover comes first; door protectors and a boot liner cover different areas and can be added later.
Will these fit my car?
Each product page lists the measurements for every option. Compare them with your seat, door or cargo area before ordering, because fit has not been checked against individual vehicle models.
Are these covers waterproof?
The hard-bottom cover has a waterproof, non-slip quilted surface and the quilted seat covers use waterproof fabric. Waterproof describes the fabric; it is not a guarantee that seams are watertight.
